Maverick politician, Arthur Nzeribe, is dead

Former Nigerian Senator, Arthur Nzeribe, is dead.

He died at the age of 83.

A family source, who craved anonymity, confirmed the demise of Nzeribe on Sunday.

The source said the family is preparing a statement to announce the demise of the former Senator, who died on Sunday evening in a foreign hospital.

It was gathered that Nzeribe has been on life support for some time.

Nzeribe, a First Republic politician, represented Imo West at the National Assembly.

He was born on November 2, 1938.

He was elected a Senator to represent Orlu in 1999.
