The Defence Headquarters is set to release a new list of wanted terrorists and bandits, comprising their names and pictures, in the country.
It was gathered that the development followed the killing of top terrorists and bandit leaders on the watchlist of the military and the emergence of a new crop of leaders.
The troops of the Nigerian Army recently neutralised some top terrorists and bandit leaders in Katsina and Kaduna states.
Among those killed by the troops was a notorious terrorist leader, Maikusa, who was the second-in-command to the infamous terrorist Modi Modi in Katsina State.
However, a source, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, disclosed that the military was working to release the names and pictures of wanted terrorists and bandits in the country.
“The authorities are working on a new list of another wanted terrorist and bandit leaders. It will also contain their pictures. Their lists are being compiled.
“We will urge Nigerians to cooperate with us to enable us to neutralise them as we have done in the past.

“There should be a bounty on them but I can’t say how much. Don’t worry; it will be released to the public very soon,” the source told Punch.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, also confirmed that work was ongoing on the new list.
“We are working on the list. It will be out soon,” Buba added.
The Star recently reported that bandits demanded N1 billion for the release of the 286 kidnapped students of the Government Secondary School (GSS) Kuriga in Gwagwada District, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A community leader, Jubril Aminu, who acts as a spokesman for the families of the abducted victims, disclosed that the kidnappers vowed to kill the victims if the ransom demand is not met in 20 days, effective from the date of the abduction (March 7).
President Bola Tinubu has however vowed not to pay ransom to kidnappers of students and other people in the country.
Tinubu had earlier directed security agencies to ensure the release of all the kidnapped victims without the payment of ransom.
