Minister’s brother marries governor’s sister

Cynthia Nwifuru, sister of Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, has married her longtime partner, Engineer Silas Umahi, who is the brother of Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi.

The traditional wedding ceremony took place at the palace of His Royal Highness Ezekiel Nwifuru Nwakpu in Oferekpe Agbaja, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Minister David Umahi, who attended the ceremony alongside Governor Nwifuru and other family members, shared photos from the event on Facebook on Saturday.

He revealed that the couple’s relationship began quietly in 2020, long before their families became aware of it.

“This marriage is truly an act of God,” Umahi said. “My relationship with Governor Francis Nwifuru started over 18 years ago, built on love, trust, and honesty — and now God has extended that bond to our younger ones.”

He congratulated the newlyweds, Engr. Silas Umahi and Princess Rebecca Cynthia Nwifuru, wishing them a marriage filled with love, peace, and divine favor.
