A motorcyclist has been crushed to death in a tanker accident at Alaba Express Bus Stop along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Lagos State.
It was gathered that the 33,000-litre tanker conveying Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol, outbound Mile 2 lost control and fell on its side after a collision with a motorcycle.
The incident was confirmed via a statement issued on Tuesday night by the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret.
The Fire Service noted that the incident was being mitigated by the Ajegunle Fire Crew of the agency and has it under control with “no palpable cause for alarm”.

“An adult male motorcyclist is however trapped beneath the tanker as efforts are ongoing to recover him,” it added.
Also confirming the incident, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) in a statement, said: “Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider was crushed to death underneath the tanker and its contents are spilling onto the road rendering the scene extremely hazardous to other motorists and passersby.”
