A multiple-vehicle accident involving a Toyota Sienna and two Cabster trucks has caused severe traffic congestion on the Kara Bridge inward Mowe/Ibafo along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the accident on Friday, July 24, 2026, saying preliminary investigations revealed that the crash was triggered by an articulated trailer that overturned earlier on the bridge, leading to the subsequent collision.
LASTMA stated that emergency responders, including officials of LASTMA, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Nigeria Police Force, are at the scene managing the situation.
LASTMA added that towing vans had been deployed to remove the affected vehicles, while recovery operations were ongoing as of the time of the update.

The agency noted that the incident has resulted in heavy traffic, with the gridlock stretching as far as Otedola Bridge and spilling over to Isheri-Olowora and Ogunusi Road.
“To ease movement, officials have temporarily opened one-way traffic from Berger down to OPIC Turning,” it said.
LASTMA appealed to motorists to remain patient and cooperate with traffic managers as efforts continue to clear the obstruction and restore normal traffic flow.
