Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim is still in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N780 million aviation fund.
A source with the anti-graft agency told The Star that Anyim is still being grilled by EFCC operatives as at 1p.m. on Monday, almost 24 hours after he was arrested.
Anyim, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in the Goodluck Jonathan administration, was taken in at about 3p.m. on Sunday at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.
The Star learnt that his interrogation is in connection with the Ministry of Aviation project when Senator Stella Oduah was the Aviation Minister.
It was learnt that part of the N780 million meant for aviation project was allegedly diverted to a company Anyim is a director.
An operative told The Star that Anyim may be released before the close of work on Monday.
Oduah is being prosecuted by the EFCC over N5 billion money laundering charges.
