Naira appreciates against dollar at official market

The naira opened the trading week with appreciation against the United States dollar at the official market, trading at N1,442.51 on Monday, December 29, 2025.

According to data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the naira gained 86 kobo.

This represents a 0.05 per cent gain when compared to December 24, 2025, when the local currency traded at N1,443.37 to a dollar.

New tax laws designed to tackle challenges, won’t hurt airlines ― FG

The gain represents sustained appreciation for the local currency during the yuletide.

On December 22, the currency traded at N1,456.56 while it sold at N1,449.98 to a dollar on Tuesday.
