Naira trades N1,579/$ at official market

The naira closed at the rate of N1,579.22 against the United States dollar at the official market on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Data from the official trading platform of the FMDQ Exchange, a platform that oversees the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), showed that the naira gained N0.52.

It represents a 0.04 per cent gain when compared to the trading on Friday, August 16, when the local currency closed at N1,579.74  to a dollar.

Tinubu flies to France in new presidential plane

The naira traded at an intra-day high of N1,601.50 and a low of N1,470.00 to a dollar on Monday.
