The naira closed at the rate of N1,639.41 against the United States dollar at the official market on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Data from the official trading platform of the FMDQ Exchange, a platform that oversees the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), showed that the naira lost N33.08.

It represents a 0.83 per cent loss when compared to the trading on Wednesday, September 4, when the local currency closed at N1,606.33 to a dollar.
The naira traded at an intra-day high of N1,650.00 and a low of N1,410.00 to a dollar on Thursday.
