Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has formally emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial election after receiving her Certificate of Return from the party.
The certificate was presented to the lawmaker on Wednesday at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja by party officials, including Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu.
Speaking after the presentation, Akpoti-Uduaghan described the certificate as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in her by party members and supporters.
She pledged to continue providing effective representation for the people of Kogi Central and reaffirmed her commitment to good governance, accountability and policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.
The senator also called for unity within the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging party members and supporters to remain focused on grassroots mobilisation and issue-based campaigns.
According to her, Nigerians are looking to leaders who can deliver development, justice, economic opportunities and transparent governance.
Akpoti-Uduaghan said the PDP must continue to engage citizens and present practical solutions to the country’s social and economic challenges through people-centred policies.
The lawmaker, who currently represents Kogi Central in the Senate, is seeking re-election for another term in the National Assembly.
Her receipt of the Certificate of Return formally signals the start of her campaign for the 2027 senatorial election, setting the stage for what is expected to be a competitive contest in Kogi Central.
