National convention: PDP expels Wike, Anyanwu, Fayose, others

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled members, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, the party’s national secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, and several others over alleged anti-party activities.

The expulsion of the PDP chieftains was announced at the party’s national convention in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The party said the decision, which was promptly ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, underscores its commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct that have plagued its progress.
