The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Ltd., a member of the Coca-Cola HBC Group, reaffirmed its strong commitment to women’s empowerment by partnering with Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) for its 24th Annual Conference, themed “Own. Walk. Nurture.”
The two-day event held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, brought together top women leaders and changemakers from across Nigeria.
Speaking at the panel session, “Leading from the Inside Out: Balancing Ambition, Vulnerability & Purpose,” NBC’s Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Oluwasoromidayo George, emphasized the importance of authenticity and emotional intelligence in leadership.
She called on women to be intentional, strategic, and confident as they navigate their career journeys.
“Vulnerability is strength. It builds trust and connection, especially when engaging with people of influence,” George said.
“Show up, stay true to your values, and lead with kindness and authenticity.”
Further demonstrating its commitment to advancing women-led enterprises, NBC awarded ₦1 million in grants to two outstanding entrepreneurs from the WIMBIZ Entrepreneurship Masterclass — Toyibah Shehu Mohammed of FarhM’s Food and Sauce Global Limited and Helen Gabriel of Ogy’s Cakes.
Both were recognized for innovation, resilience, and potential for economic impact.
Presenting the grant, Jolomi Fawehinmi, NBC’s People & Culture Director, reaffirmed the company’s belief in the transformative power of women in business.
“When women-led businesses grow, economies thrive and communities prosper,” Fawehinmi said.
“Every woman who took part in the Masterclass has already shown the drive and excellence that fuels real impact.”
NBC’s continued partnership with WIMBIZ underscores its mission to build an inclusive, empowered workforce and foster a thriving ecosystem for women entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
