NDLEA busts skuchies factory in Lagos

A factory producing skuchies — a dangerous mixture of cannabis and blackcurrant drink — has been uncovered in Ikorodu, Lagos, by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

During the raid on September 11, operatives recovered 6,029 bottles of the psychoactive drink and 4,232kg of cannabis from the facility located in Caritas, Ibeshe area.

The factory manager, Joy Awosika, was arrested at the scene, while another suspect, Akeem Oriola, was nabbed in Mushin the same day with 26kg of skunk.

The discovery underscores NDLEA’s growing concern over the spread of new psychoactive substances among Nigerian youths.
