The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted ammunition concealed in kegs of palm oil along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this via a statement issued on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Babafemi said a 30-year-old suspect, Mustapha Sani, was nabbed by NDLEA operatives on a patrol operation at Baure in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, where Sani was found with 323 rounds of military-grade ammunition consisting of 200 pieces of 7.62mm and 123 rounds of 7.6mm neatly concealed on July 22.
Babafemi said another 30-year-old suspect, Abubakar Amadu, was arrested by anti-narcotic officers on stop and search operation at Jere, along Abuja-Kaduna expressway, where Amadu was found with 73 RLA, 7.62mm ammunition hidden in kegs of palm oil.

“Both suspects have been handed over to the relevant security agency for further investigation,” he stated.
While commending the officers for the various successful operations, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Marwa (rtd), enjoined them and their colleagues across the country to continue with the ongoing balanced approach to the drug control efforts of the agency.
