The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a consignment of 32 pieces of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) being taken to a bandits’ camp in Niger State.
The NDLEA Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, made the disclosure via a statement issued on Sunday, May 28.
Babafemi noted that a suspect, Musa Muhammadu, was caught with the explosives along Wawa Road, Kainji, Niger State, on Monday, May 22.
He stated that the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the anti-drug agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), has since ordered the transfer of the to the military.

He further revealed that the NDLEA operatives, supported by the troops of the Nigerian Army, NSCDC officers and police, on Wednesday, May 24, raided the notorious Abbi town, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, and arrested three suspects with 343.9kg cannabis.

Babafemi said a similar mop-up operation in Bayelsa State led to the arrest of a 38-year-old wanted suspect, Ozoemena Egbochue, at the Swali market in Yenagoa, the state capital on Monday, May 22, following the earlier arrest of his sales boy, Morgan Eredeowei, with 11,748 pills of tramadol and diazepam.
