Nigeria, three others qualify for 2026 FIBA women’s World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria’s women’s basketball team has secured a place in the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifying tournaments after advancing to the semifinals of the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket.

Alongside Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, and South Sudan also earned qualification, representing Africa among the 24 national teams that will battle for World Cup slots in four global qualifying tournaments scheduled for March 2026.

From the Americas, Brazil, Argentina, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Colombia will participate in the qualifiers.

Asia and Oceania will be represented by Japan, China, Korea, the Philippines, New Zealand, and Australia.

European teams in the qualifiers include host nation Germany, along with the Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, and Turkey.

The final qualifying tournaments will determine which teams advance to the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
