#NigeriaElections2023: Obi floors Tinubu, Atiku in Imo, C/River

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has been declared the winner of the February 25 presidential election in Imo State.

According to the result announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, Obi polled 352,904 votes to defeat Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 66,171 votes.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came a distant third with 30,004 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) came fourth with 1,5036 votes.

INEC disclosed that a total of 476,730 voters were accredited out of the 2,125,446 registered voters in the state.

The electoral umpire stated that 459,261 were recorded as valid votes, while 10,424 votes were rejected out of the total 469,685 votes cast.

Similarly, Obi also won Saturday’s presidential election in Cross River State.

According to the result announced by INEC, Obi polled 17,9917 votes to defeat Tinubu, who scored 130,520 votes.

Atiku, however, garnered 95,425 votes, while Kwankwaso got 1,644 votes.

INEC listed total registered voters as 1,691,642; total accredited voters – 444,880; total valid votes – 416,968; rejected votes – 24,608; and total votes cast – 441576
