Nigerian Breweries to make 80 Nigerians millionaires in 80th anniversary drive

Nigerian Breweries Plc has launched its 80th anniversary celebration with a nationwide campaign inviting Nigerians to share photographs, videos and personal memories connected to the company and its brands.

The campaign, tagged “Together, Every Moment,” will see 80 selected participants receive N1 million each, alongside other prizes.

The company said the National Story Collection is designed to document how Nigerian Breweries has featured in the lives of Nigerians, businesses and communities since its incorporation in 1946.

It called on Nigerians at home and abroad to search their photo albums, family archives and phone galleries for moments showing connections with the company, its brands, employees, investments and community initiatives.

According to the company, the memories could include weddings, graduations, football celebrations, family gatherings and other social events, as well as stories involving farmers, retailers, distributors, suppliers, transporters, employees and host communities.

Speaking on the initiative, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Breweries, Thibaut Boidin, said the company wanted Nigerians to tell the story of its 80-year journey from their own perspectives.

“An 80th anniversary can easily become a company talking about itself. That would miss the point,” Boidin said.

He said farmers, entrepreneurs, retailers, distributors, suppliers, employees and communities had played significant roles in shaping the company’s history.

Boidin added that the selected memories would feature in films, editorial stories, social media content, outdoor displays, anniversary experiences and the company’s commemorative archive.

Participation in the campaign is free, with submissions to be made through the company’s anniversary website or social media platforms using the hashtags #NigerianBreweriesAt80 and #NBAt80.

The brewer said the anniversary programme would also feature films, media storytelling, cultural experiences, consumer activities and commemorative events throughout the celebration.
