The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) says it has no intention to increase the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), fondly called petrol.

There have been rumours about a potential increase in petrol pump prices across the country in the coming weeks.

Marketers had cited the depreciation of the naira against the United States dollar, coupled with the recent rise in global crude oil prices, as factors potentially leading to an impending hike in the pump price of petrol.

However, the NNPCL, in a statement shared on its X account on Friday, October 6, 2023, noted that it has no intention to increase the pump price of petrol, as widely speculated.

It stated: “Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.

“Please buy the best-quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide.”
