The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has announced December 13, 2025, as the date for its governorship primary election in Osun State.
State chairman of the party, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, assuring that the exercise would be transparent and hitch-free.
Odeyemi expressed confidence that the NNPP is positioned to wrest power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2026 governorship election.
According to him, the party is gaining ground amid internal crises within the PDP and divisions in the All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged plans to impose a candidate.
“As we speak, four aspirants, including a former governorship candidate, have shown interest in our ticket, and more are indicating interest daily,” Odeyemi said.
He added that the NNPP is quietly consolidating its strength across the state, expressing optimism that the people of Osun are ready to embrace the party’s vision.
Odeyemi also urged party members to remain committed to promoting the NNPP’s ideals and its plans to improve the welfare of citizens and reposition Osun State for progress.
