Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo dies at 40

Popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has reportedly passed away at the age of 40, according to tributes shared by colleagues on social media on Tuesday.

The news of his alleged death was shared by actress Funke Akindele, who posted an emotional message on her Instagram story expressing shock and grief.

“I really tried to reach out to see you one more time, but I guess you knew best. May your kind soul rest in peace Alex,” she wrote. “Ore mi, like you fondly called me, I will always remember and cherish the good times we shared together. Rest in peace Alex.”

Actor Bolanle Ninalowo, who is currently based in the United States, also paid tribute, writing: “Rest on, Alex. May God heal your family and us all.”

Similarly, actor Godwin Nnadiekwe expressed deep sorrow over the development, describing Ekubo’s passing as a painful loss to the industry.

“I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly broken me. Nollywood has lost a rare soul… Rest well, my friend,” he wrote, adding that the late actor had reportedly prepared his will before his death.

As of press time, there has been no official confirmation from his family regarding the reported passing.
