NSCDC promotes officer for returning pilgrim’s missing N850,000

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, has promoted of its officers, Abubakar Mayos, for his outstanding display of honesty and integrity.

The state commandant of the NSCDC, Idris Bande, announced this at a press conference in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Bande said Mayos, a Corps Assistant II, was promoted for returning a missing bag belonging to one Maimuna Salihu, an intending pilgrim from Taraba State, who was scheduled for the 2025 Hajj.

Bande said the bag found at the Yola International Airport contained $500 and 300 Saudi Riyals, estimated at N850,000.

He stated that in recognition of the officer’s exemplary conduct, the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi, approved the immediate promotion of Mayos’ from Corps Assistant II (CAII) to Corps Assistant I (CAI).

The commandant noted that Mayos’ action had earned him the admiration of colleagues and members of the public, while promoting the image of the NSCDC.

Bande added: “By recognising and rewarding honesty, the commandant general has reaffirmed that doing the right thing pays.

“His leadership continues to inspire a sense of duty and responsibility within our ranks.”
