Obi, Kwankwaso rally NDC gov candidates for 2027

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, have held a strategic meeting with the party’s governorship candidates and other key stakeholders ahead of the commencement of the 2027 election campaigns.

The closed-door meeting was held on Monday night in Abuja as the party moved to strengthen coordination between its presidential and state-level campaigns.

According to a statement posted on the NDC’s verified X handle, the meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming electoral cycle, including campaign strategy and the party’s readiness for the elections.

The party leadership stressed the need for a coordinated campaign structure that would align the presidential campaign with governorship and other electoral contests across the states.

More than 25 NDC governorship candidates attended the meeting, alongside party leaders and state executives.

Those present included Buba Galadima, as well as the party’s Kebbi and Sokoto State chairmen, Mustapha Umar and Bello Sani Yabo.

The meeting comes ahead of the official opening of campaigns, with the NDC seeking to build a unified electoral structure across the country and strengthen its chances in the 2027 elections.
