The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, has pledged to review teachers’ salaries, improve their working conditions and establish training centres across the state’s three senatorial districts if elected.

Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, made the pledge in a message to mark the 2026 World Teachers’ Day on Tuesday.

He said his administration would prioritise teachers’ welfare and professional development as part of efforts to strengthen Ogun’s education system and improve learning outcomes.

According to him, the proposed teacher training centres will enable educators to update their skills and improve their capacity to deliver quality education.

“Teachers play a critical role in shaping the future of our children and, by extension, the future of Ogun State. Their commitment, patience, and dedication deserve recognition and support,” Adeola said.

He also promised to provide better working conditions and ensure timely payment of teachers’ salaries.

Adeola commended teachers across the state for their dedication to educating and shaping young people despite the challenges associated with the profession.

He said improving the welfare and professional development of teachers would contribute to stronger human capital development and a more effective education system in Ogun.
