Okpebholo suspends Edo monarch over kidnapping in community

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has suspended the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Agenebode in Etsako East Local Government Area of the state, Dr George Egabor, over the recent cases of incessant kidnapping and killings in his domain.

The monarch’s suspension was made known via a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Police probe Delta governor’s aide’s death

The suspension, the state government, said is indefinite.

The government stated that the secretary of the traditional ruler, Peter Omiogbemhi, has since been arrested by the relevant authorities, following a recent incident that led to the death of a palace chief, John Ikhamate.
