The Oluwo of Iwo in Osun State, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has announced that his wedding to a Kano princess, Firdaus Abdullahi, will hold on March 19, 2022.
In an invite made available to newsmen, Oluwo stated that the wedding will hold place at the residence of the Madakin Kano in Kano.
It was further indicated that the Kano princess will hold a grand reception strictly for ladies at Gidan Rumfa inside the palace of the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, on the same date.
The 27-year-old Firdaus Abdullahi is a niece of Emir of Kano.
Recall that Oluwo, who is remarrying barely three years of divorce from his first marriage with a Jamaican woman, recently made headlines for allegedly soliciting for the sum of N20 million from Governor Oyetola of Osun State to marry a princess in Kano State.

The monarch had purportedly in a letter dated February 8, 2022, stated his decision to marry a princess from the Ado Bayero dynasty in Kano.
A stamp on the letter titled, ‘Notification of wedding and request for financial support’, showed it was received on behalf of Oyetola by the office of Special Adviser to the governor on Chieftaincy Affairs.
Oluwo, however, denied writing a letter to the governor to solicit for financial support for the wedding.
Oba Akanbi became the Oluwo of Iwo in November 2015 at the age of 48.
