One injured as explosion rocks Abuja bus stop

One person has been injured in an explosion at the Mararaba-Nyanya bypass in Abuja Monday, May 26, 2025.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command confirmed the explosion.

The police stated that the incident occurred at about 2:50 p.m. on Monday.

The command said officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit were swiftly deployed to the scene after receiving a distress report.

Victim recounts ordeal as 56-year-old man bags life imprisonment for raping stepdaughter

The police noted that the area was immediately cordoned off to ensure public safety while clearance and forensic analysis began.

The police added that one male victim was rescued from the scene and has been hospitalised.

The police urged the public to remain calm and continue with their daily activities.
