Ooni, Queen Mariam welcome twin princes

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and one of his queens, Mariam, have welcomed twin princes into the royal house of Oduduwa.

The Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Moses Olafare, announced this in a statement issued on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Olafare said the traditional ruler expressed gratitude to “Almighty Olodumare” for the successful delivery and the safe condition of both mother and children.

He noted that the arrival of the twins had brought excitement and celebration in the ancient city of Ile-Ife in Osun State, with friends, associates, and well-wishers congratulating the royal family on the new addition.

Ooni described the birth of the twin princes as a special blessing to the royal household and the entire House of Oduduwa.
