Oreagba, son light up Ojude Oba 2026

Businessman and socialite, Farooq Oreagba, was among the standout figures at the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival, captivating spectators with a dramatic horseback entrance at the cultural event in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

Oreagba, a capital market executive, rode into the arena in stylish traditional attire, drawing cheers from the crowd as his appearance blended elegance with cultural pride. Photos and videos of his entrance quickly went viral, earning praise on social media for its regal and fashionable flair.

Shortly after his display, his son, Jamal Oreagba, also entered the arena on horseback, delivering an equally impressive outing that caught the attention of festival-goers.

The father-and-son appearance became one of the highlights of the festival, with many commending their confidence, fashion sense and commitment to showcasing Yoruba heritage.

Social media users reacted enthusiastically, describing Oreagba’s presence as iconic and applauding his consistency in turning heads at the annual event.

The Ojude Oba Festival, held annually on the third day after Eid-el-Kabir, remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent cultural celebrations. It attracts dignitaries, business leaders, celebrities and members of the Ijebu diaspora, all coming together to honour tradition, unity and loyalty to the traditional institution.

This year’s edition comes amid the absence of a substantive Awujale on the throne, following recent developments surrounding the revered stool.
