The Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, has called for justice over the death of popular gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, who was alleged to have died as a result of gender-based violence perpetrated by her husband, Peter Nwachukwu.
The Star had reported that Osinachi died last Friday Friday after spending days at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja.
Following the death of the 42-year-old gospel artiste, some of her colleagues accused her husband of beating and maltreating the gospel singer.
This is just as a popular gospel artiste, Frank Edwards, further alleged that Osinachi’s husband abused her on several occasions.
The husband of the late ‘Ekwueme’ crooner has since been arrested by the police.
However, the Minister of Women Affairs, who paid a condolence visit to the family of the late gospel singer in Abuja on Monday, called on the police to ensure that justice is served on the death of Osinachi.

Tallen said: “I have confidence in the police and the judicial system to ensure justice for the late singer, and I also demand that the children should be offered special protection.
“Those are what the Nigerian women, whom I stand to represent are demanding of this situation,” she was quoted as saying in a statement issued by her media aide, Olujimi Oyetomi.
The minister, who asked for a private session with the children of the deceased, disclosed that her findings compelled her to call for justice for Osinachi and protection for the children.
Tallen was accompanied on the condolence visit by her Permanent Secretary, Engr. Olufunso Adebiyi, members of Civil Society Organizations, Directors of Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, amongst others.
