Popular Nigerian singers, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, and Habeeb Okikiola, fondly called Portable, have stormed Osun State to canvass votes for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the July 16 governorship election in the state.

While Davido is rooting support for the PDP, Portable has been campaigning for the ruling APC.

Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, who will slug it out with the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola, at the poll on Saturday.

Adeleke also vied for the Osun State number seat but lost to Oyetola in the 2018 governorship election.

However, Davido, who has been in the state for days, was seen with mammoth crowd canvassing support for his uncle.

The singer, in a string of videos posted on his social media accounts, was greeted with cheers as he moved round the state with many residents.

The award-winning musician was also spotted adorning the PDP’s mega rally ‘Agbada’ with the inscription ‘Imole Lokan’ on Thursday.

“No intimidation. No violence. No retreat. No Surrender! IMOLE DE! #osunguber2022 Awa Lokan,” Davido captioned one of the videos on his Instagram page.

On the other hand, Portable endorsed Governor Oyetola ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.

The ‘Zazu Zeh’ crooner, in a video posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday, urged his followers in Osun State to vote for the governor.

Portable, who was sitting beside Oyetola in the video, said: “4+4, Akoi Oyetola, my father is here.”

The singer also asked Nigerians to vote for the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu, during the 2023 presidential election.

He further revealed that he was paid to endorse Tinubu ahead of the next year’s general election.
