OsunDecides2026: Adeleke defeats APC’s Oyebamiji by over 66,000 votes

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has emerged the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election after polling 511,067 votes to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

The final result announced at the end of the statewide collation showed that Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji garnered 444,815 votes, leaving a margin of 66,252 votes between the two leading candidates.

The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Najeem Salaam, finished a distant third with 17,180 votes.

According to the final figures, Osun State had 2,339,544 registered voters, out of which 1,010,684 were accredited to participate in the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recorded 985,079 valid votes, while 20,721 ballots were rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 1,005,800.

The declaration concluded the collation process for the governorship election conducted across the state’s 30 local government areas.
