OsunDecides2026: Davido questions delay in uploading results to IReV

Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has questioned the delay in uploading results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal, IReV.

Davido raised the concern in a series of posts on his X account, urging INEC to ensure transparency and provide timely updates on the results.

“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay? Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” he wrote.

The singer also urged voters to remain at their polling units until their results were uploaded to IReV and ensure that the figures were accurately entered on the electronic EC8A result form.

“Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A. We will follow our votes bumper to bumper!” he said.

Davido further called on voters to photograph their polling unit result sheets and forward them to a WhatsApp number he shared in his post.

“Don’t leave your polling unit until it is being uploaded on the IReV, protect your vote now,” he added.

In another post, the singer claimed that where the camera on a Bimodal Voter Accreditation System device was faulty, officials could use the front camera, which he described as “very active and fast.”

Davido has been actively campaigning for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party in the Osun governorship election.

His comments come amid heightened scrutiny of the voting, accreditation and result-uploading processes as voters and political parties monitor the outcome of the poll.
