Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has been appointed Chairman of the Aspirants’ Screening Committee for the 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oyebanji was inaugurated alongside other members of the 42-member committee on Wednesday at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja.
The committee is mandated to screen and verify aspirants seeking elective positions at the forthcoming National Convention, in line with the party’s constitution, guidelines and other applicable regulations.
Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, will serve as Co-Chairman, while former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, is Vice Chairman. Former Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, was named Secretary, with former Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, serving as Assistant Secretary.
Other members include Orji Uzor Kalu, Gbenga Daniel, Ben Ayade, Osita Izunaso, Sarafa Alli, Hon. Adebayo Adelabu, Dr Isa Muhammed and Uche Ekwunife, among others.
At the inauguration ceremony, presided over by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, several other committees were also constituted.
These include the Screening Appeal Committee, Election Committee, Venue Committee, Security Committee, Election Appeal Committee, Finance Committee, Media and Publicity Committee, Ceremonial, Programme and Event Committee, Delegates Accreditation Committee, Protocol Committee, Accommodation and Transportation Committee, and the Entertainment and Welfare Committee.
The inauguration marks a key step in preparations for the party’s 2026 National Convention.
