PDP convenes high-stakes NEC meeting in Abuja Wednesday

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that its 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will be held from Wednesday, July 23 to Friday, July 25, 2025, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

This was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.

The meeting, according to the statement, will involve key party stakeholders as outlined in Section 31(1) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

These include the national chairman, serving and former Nigerian presidents and vice presidents who are party members, the chairman and secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT), all BoT members, and principal officers of the Senate and House of Representatives who are PDP members.

Also expected are up to 18 PDP senators, 24 members of the House of Representatives, all PDP state governors, all national officers and deputies, and all state chairmen. Other attendees will include six ex-officio members, former NWC members who remain in the party, former principal officers of the National Assembly elected on the PDP platform, and former state governors who are still party members.

The meeting is expected to address critical party issues ahead of the 2027 general elections.
