PDP delegate shares N12m made from presidential aspirants

A delegate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Tanko Rossi Sabo, has distributed N12 million he got from the party’s aspirants to the residents of his community in Sanga Local Government Area of the state.

Political parties held their primaries to elect the candidates for various positions ahead of the 2023 general election last week with the antics of the delegates being the subject of discussion on social media.

Many aspirants were said to have given huge amounts of money to the delegates to clinch the party’s ticket for the desired position.

However, one of the PDP’s delegates, on Wednesday, shared the money he received from the aspirants to the less privileged in his community.

It was gathered that the delegate voted at the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, senatorial, governorship and the presidential primaries of the PDP.

Sabo was said to have given N100,000 as logistics to a 5-man committee to go around schools and pay examination fees for underprivileged students, while he gave N6.9 million to assist 150 orphans and less-privileged people in the communities cutting across party lines.

He was said to have spent N3.2 million on the purchase of 42 customised jerseys, including goalkeeper wears, socks and tracksuits to promote sports in the area.

The delegate was also said to have shared about N1.3 million to PDP Ward executives in Sanga local government area.

His son, Tashir Tanko, who took to Facebook, said his father promised to share the money he got from the primaries to orphans writing the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Tanko wrote: “Amongst the whole of Kaduna State PDP delegates, my daddy (Tanko Rossi Sabo) stands exceptional, for his way of doing things is entirely different.

“He is a delegate who voted for the House of Assembly member, Federal House of Representatives, senatorial, governorship and the presidential candidates.

“He promised before the start of the elections that anything he got in this process of the elections would be saved and half of what he got would be used to pay off WAEC and NECO exams of orphans in his community, and behold he is keeping the promise.

“Tell me of anyone (other) like my daddy #TankoRossiSabo?”
