The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rescheduled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting from October 24 to November 28, 2024.
Bauchii State Governor Bala Mohammed disclosed while reading a communique issued by the PDP Governors’ Forum at the end of its meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, October 22.
Mohammed, the forum’s chairman, said the PDP resolved to reschedule the NEC meeting originally scheduled for October 24 to November 28.
He said the postponement was to ensure that the party goes into the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State with the unity and strength demanded to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state.
PDP governors: We’ve resolved party’s crisis
Reiterating the need for unity in the face of efforts by detractors to divide the PDP, Mohammed called on all members to shun divisive utterances.
He urged the PDP members to shun divisive utterances that could undermine ongoing efforts at strengthening the party to effectively play its role as the country’s main opposition, preparatory to taking over in 2027.
Those who attended the meeting included members of the PDP governors, the Board of Trustees, the National Working Committee, National Assembly leadership of the PDP Caucus, and former governors of the party.
