PDP sets up c’ttee on zoning national offices ahead of convention, condemns hardship

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the composition of the committee on the zoning of national offices ahead of the party’s national convention.

The PDP national convention is slated for August 28 to August 30, 2025.

The members of the zoning committee are Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri (Chairman), Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal (Vice Chairman), Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang (Secretary).

The members of the national convention committee are Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (Chairman), Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke (Vice Chairman), and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah (Secretary).

The PDP disclosed this via a communique Issued at the end of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

The party further disclosed that NEC also received the resolution of the South-East Zonal Executive with regard to the issue of the National Secretary of the party.

It said NEC resolved to consider the resolution of the South-East Zonal Executive at the next NEC meeting scheduled to hold on June 30, 2025.

The party, however, condemned killings, kidnapping, and other acts of terrorism in various parts of Nigeria, saying insecurity in the country is emboldened by President Bola Tinubu’s “apparent negligence and abdication of his Constitutional duty to ensure the safety and security of the nation and her citizens.”

The PDP also lamented the economic hardship and poverty in the country, noting that this was occasioned by the “ill-advised and ill-implemented polices of the Tinubu administration”.

The PDP urged Tinubu’s administration to rescind “all its anti-people policies” and take practical steps to address the insecurity and economic hardship in the country.

The party, therefore, reassured Nigerians that it remains “strong, resilient, united, and determined now, more than ever before in leading the charge to rescue our nation from the vicious grip of the APC.”
