The Forum of State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended two of its members over alleged collaboration with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to sabotage the party’s forthcoming national convention.
The Forum announced this via a communique issued after its meeting held at the PDP FCT Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The Forum chaired by Edward Percy Masha accused Austine Nwachukwu (Imo State) and Amah Abraham Nnana (Abia State) of engaging in anti-party activities aimed at disrupting preparations for the convention scheduled for November 15–16, 2025.
It alleged that both chairmen acted in concert with external interests linked to the APC and had sought a court injunction to stop the exercise.
Their chairman’s actions, the Forum said, constituted a betrayal of party unity and loyalty.

“Consequently, the forum resolved to suspend both members from the body and appointed Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, Chairman of the Edo State PDP, as the new Chairman of the PDP State Chairmen Forum,” it stated.
The Forum also condemned what it described as the APC’s “desperate and undemocratic tactics” to intimidate PDP leaders and weaken opposition politics in Nigeria.
It described the alleges acts as an assault on democracy, adding that the ruling party’s conduct “is a dangerous step toward establishing a de facto one-party state, which Nigerians must collectively resist.”
It reaffirmed confidence in the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), the PDP Governors’ Forum, and other statutory organs of the party, pledging continued cooperation toward rebuilding and repositioning the PDP as a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general election.
