PDP wins all 21 chairmanship, 226 councillorship seats in Adamawa polls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all 21 chairmanship and 226 councillorship seats in the Adamawa Local Government elections conducted on Saturday.

The Chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Mohammed Umar, announced the results in Yola, the state capital, on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Umar said the results were confirmed after the final collation of votes from the 21 Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.

Umar said: “Following the final collation of results, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all the 21 chairmanship seats contested in the state.

“The party also won all the 226 councillorship seats across the wards, while the election was conducted peacefully.”

The ADSIEC chairman added that although 11 political parties initially indicated interest in participating in the election, only four eventually took part.

He listed the participating parties to include the PDP, All Progressives Congress (APC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC).
