PHOTOS: Several people trapped as building collapses in Kano

Several people have been trapped in a three storey building under construction in the popular Beirut area of Kano City.

An witness said that the building is being constructed by Kano State Government.

He confirmed that there are close to 10 people in the collapsed building.

Three people have been rescued so far but residents are lamenting late arrival of rescue operations team.

An eyewitness told The Star that his friend is among the trapped victims.

“My friend’s phone rang and he answered saying he was suffocating,” the source said.

The incident happened at about 3:30p.m. Tuesday.
