Passengers injured as Abuja-Kaduna train derails after collision

A yet-to-be-ascertained number of passengers have been confirmed injured as a train travelling from Kaduna to Abuja derailed after a collision on Monday, March 16, 2026.

It was gathered that the Abuja-bound train collided with another train, forcing operations to halt along the route.

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Kayode Opeifa, confirmed the incident on Monday.

Students expelled as police probe bullying incident at Edo school

Opeifa, who disclosed that the incident occurred at Asham in Kaduna State, said the injured passengers had been brought back to Idu train station for necessary medical attention.

He explained that no person died, adding the NRC has commenced an investigation into the incident.
