Students expelled as police probe bullying incident at Edo school

The Edo State Police Command has launched an investigation into a bullying incident involving the students of Igbinedion Secondary School after a disturbing video of the assault surfaced on social media.

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, in a statement issued on Sunday, March 15, 2026, also disclosed that the school authorities have already expelled the students involved in the bullying.

The footage, which recently surfaced on X, showed two male students attacking a classmate who was lying on the ground and unable to defend himself.

In the viral video, one of the students was seen pulling the victim by his suit and repeatedly stomping on his chest as the boy cried out in pain.

The video sparked outrage online, with many social media users condemning the incident and calling on authorities to ensure those responsible face disciplinary action.

However, Ikoedem said the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has directed the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area to visit the school and begin a detailed inquiry into the incident.
