The Enugu State Police Command has arrested a couple and a nurse for allegedly selling a one-day-old baby girl.
The suspects, identified as Godwin Enyikpo, 30, and his wife, Ndidi, 25, residents of Emene, were apprehended by detectives from the Emene Division following credible intelligence.
Also arrested was a nurse, Ijeoma Oma, 32, who reportedly facilitated the sale of the infant about three weeks ago.
Police sources confirmed that efforts are ongoing to track down other accomplices and rescue the baby.
The State Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation to ensure all individuals linked to the crime are brought to justice.
