The Adamawa State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man accused of killing a villager over an alleged affair with his wife in Demsa Local Government Area.
The incident occurred in Wuro Bakumbo village, where the suspect, identified as Hamman Shomo, allegedly attacked one Hammadu Shagari with a knife during a heated quarrel on Sunday.
Shomo reportedly accused Shagari of having an affair with his 20-year-old wife, Rabi Alim. After the attack, Shagari fled into the bush but was later found dead on Monday with deep knife wounds on his back.
Police officers visited the scene, documented evidence, and evacuated the body to General Hospital, Numan, for autopsy.
The Command confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect, while the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been directed to conduct a discreet investigation.
