Kano State Police Command has arrested one Alhaji Mustapha, 52, of Goron Dutse area in Dala Local Government for reckless driving that killed one person and injured many others during Eid-l-fitr Durbar in Kano.
A reckless driver captured in a video during the recently held Nasarawa Eid Durbar rampaging through the crowd of bystanders who were watching the royal Sallah procession in the ancient City went viral in social media amid public outcry.
The driver fled the scene after tramping on the people in his bid to escape responsibility and justice.

Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed that at least one person was killed while four others sustain fractures in the unfortunate incident.
Kiyawa said: “We received complaints from the relatives of the victims. Kano State Commissioner of Police ordered that victims be taken to the hospital. A doctor confirmed that one Zaharaddin Sani Mohammed, 30, of Tarauni died.
“Four were hospitalised: Nabila Garba, 15, sustain two fractures. Saddiqa Abdurrazaq, 18, of Kawo area got fractured, Aliyu Maza of Hotoro, 30, also had a fracture in the leg and another at hand while a five-month old Nasir Imrana was hit in the head.”
The Police said their investigation led to identifying and arresting the suspect who is being kept at the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.
