The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that the disturbance occurred at Temidire Junction and the Under-Bridge area, where the group allegedly set bonfires, disrupted traffic, and attacked police officers.

“Police operatives were promptly mobilised to the locations, dispersed the group, and arrested eight suspects: Adewale Sosanya (48), Opeyemi Oladotun (31), Zara Gabriel (22), Ajoke Gabriel (19), Adewale Adebomojo (48), Yusuf Tanimowo (40), Olurotimi Ademola (52), and Toyin Gabriel (40),” Babaseyi said.

Items recovered from the suspects include a Toyota Dyna used to transport them, two broadcast speakers, a carton of flags, agitational shirts, and banners displaying their messages.

The suspects will be arraigned after investigations conclude.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, reassured residents of the police’s commitment to maintaining peace and warned that attacks on officers would be met with decisive action.

He urged the public to remain law-abiding and report suspicious activities via the command’s emergency lines.
