Police arrest man with fake naira notes in Lagos

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 47-year-old man, Shola Owosho, for alleged possession of counterfeit naira notes.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday, January 19, 2024.

Hundeyin disclosed that the suspect was arrested by the officers of the Ijora Badia Division for unlawful possession of N13,000 fake currency.

The police spokesman stated: “One Shola Owosho ‘m’ aged 47 has been arrested by officers of Ijora Badia Division in possession of fake N1000 notes totaling N13,000.

“He has been positively identified by a victim of his crime. Investigation is ongoing.”
