Police arrest ‘one-chance’ robbery suspects, recover vehicle, counterfeit dollars in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a notorious “one-chance” robbery syndicate in Abuja, recovering a vehicle, fake foreign currency, and other items.

The suspects were intercepted on August 4 at 4:45 p.m. by a patrol team from the Dutse Alhaji Division along the Gwarinpa–Dei-Dei expressway, near the Public Service Institute of Nigeria.

Identified as Sultan Jafar, 19, of Efab Global Estate, Idu, and Abdul Rasheed Abubakar of 2nd Avenue, Gwarinpa, the duo was found loitering suspiciously inside a custom-painted Honda vehicle.

A search of the vehicle uncovered $3,500 in counterfeit U.S. dollars, an additional number plate marked TFB 830 RC (Bauchi), and a Moniepoint Point-of-Sale (POS) machine.

Both suspects are currently in police custody and undergoing further interrogation as investigations continue.
