Police arrest septuagenarian for defiling 4-year-old niece

A 75-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly defiling his four-year-old niece at Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this via a statement issued on Sunday.

Nansel stated that the septuagenarian was arrested on Saturday following a report made to the police.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and his niece are resident in the same house where he lured the victim into his room and wilfully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

“The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical examination where a doctor confirmed that her hymen was broken,” the police spokesperson noted.

He added that the suspect would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigation.
